Alfresco was founded in 2005 by John Newton (co-founder of Documentum) and John Powell (a former COO of Business Objects) and long time was a leader in open-source ECM. Headquartered in Boston, Alfresco develops a cloud-native digital business platform that delivers content services solutions to connect, manage and protect organizations' most critical information.
