Obsidian
Obsidian is a personal knowledge base and note-taking software application that operates on Markdown files. It allows users to make internal links for notes and then to visualize the connections as a graph. It is designed to help users organize and structure their thoughts and knowledge in a flexible, non-linear way. Enables bi-directional linking for easy navigation between notes.
DokuWiki and Obsidian are both open-source knowledge management tools that can be used for personal knowledge management and project documentation. They are installed locally and allow to create document/note structure and use Markdown syntax for formatting.

But DokuWiki (released in 2004) is German wiki software platform designed for team collaboration. It's better suited for managing structured, collaborative documentation in organizations. It's installed on server but stores content in plain text, so no database is required, that results in simpler server maintenance.

Obsidian (2020) is a note-taking app suitable for personal knowledge workers rather than team collaboration. It's desktop-first, not server-based and know for original graph view for linking ideas. Obsidian offers extensive library of plugins for customization.
