Full-featured, open source, state-of-the-art video surveillance software system. Monitor your office using off the shelf hardware with any camera, you can design a system as large or as small as you need. Supports motion detection and event-triggered recording.
Frigate NVR and ZoneMinder are both open-source self-hosted video surveillance software that support multiple camera types and inputs, provide advanced configuration options and can integrate with office security platforms. They offer similar features like motion detection and event recording.
But Frigate NVR (available since 2020) is a newer solution, that uses AI for real-time object detection which reduces number of false positive alerts. It's supported only by community and optimized for affordable hardware (even works on Raspberry Pi) so it is more of a tool for smart home.
ZoneMinder (2002) is an old-school program that relies on pixel-based motion detection without built-in AI. It requires more robust hardware for optimal performance and is a better choice for companies that need more customizable and complex security system.
