Gmail is an email service provided by Google. Users may access Gmail as secure webmail, as well via POP3 or IMAP protocols. Gmail's spam filtering features a community-driven system: when any user marks an email as spam, this provides information to help the system identify similar future messages for all Gmail users. Google also provides GMail alternative for business - Google Workspace.

Verse
HLC Verse (former IBM Verse) helps you prioritize information, people and tasks, anticipating what you need, when you need it. Verse also integrates collaboration capabilities like instant messaging, file sharing and connections to social networks, from your desktop or virtually any mobile device.

GMail and Verse are both web-based email services with contact management, calendar, tasks and chat. They provide mobile apps for Android and iOS and allow integration with third-party apps and services.

But GMail (launched in 2004) is a part of Google Workspace - email service used by either private users or businesses of various sizes. GMail is known for it's user-friendly interface, AI-based spam filter, message categorization and writing tools. It's available in free and paid version depending on storage size.

Verse is an enterprise email software, created in 2014 by IBM and then acquired by Indian company HLC. It focuses on enterprise collaboration and is designed for on-premise installation. It's more secure and customizable than Google's service. It also integrates capabilities like instant messaging, file sharing and profile management
