TightVNC
TightVNC is a free remote control software package. With TightVNC, you can see the desktop of a remote machine and control it with your local mouse and keyboard, just like you would do it sitting in the front of that computer.

RealVNC and TightVNC are both free remote computer control programs that are often used for remote support, training and IT administration. They both use the standard RFB (Remote Framebuffer) protocol, work on Windows, macOS, Linux, provide end-to-end encryption

But RealVNC (launched in 2003) is a British program developed by RealVNC Ltd and it has commercial version with enhanced security (support for TLS encryption) and more convenient deployment features. There is support for a cloud connection (RealVNC Cloud) that does not require a static IP. RealVNC provides a convenient centralized management panel (VNC Server, VNC Viewer, Enterprise). In general, it has a more polished interface, better technical support and is more popular in the commercial segment.

TightVNC (2001) is developed by Russian developer Konstantin Kozlov and is completely free and open source (GPL license) - supported by the community. The program is known for its effective traffic compression. It is lightweight, minimalistic, well suited for weak connections. Supports Java Viewer - you can run client in a browser without installing software. The interface is simpler and less functional.
