2025. OpenStack Cloud to improve access control
OpenStack community has released the new version of its cloud computing platform OpenStack Epoxy with a range of new features, security enhancements and hardware enablement improvements, Epoxy is poised to support more complex and demanding workloads while offering more efficient management tools for cloud administrators. A significant upgrade comes to Manila (OpenStack’s shared file system service). It allows now to modify the access level and gives administrators greater control over who can modify and access shared data. Octavia (OpenStack’s load balancing service) now supports custom neutron security groups for load balancer Virtual IP ports. Thus administrators can ensure that only approved traffic types are allowed to access the load balancer, further reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
