2025. Inoreader adds suggested tags

News reader Inoreader is making tagging in Inoreader smarter, faster and more flexible. The new suggested tags feature is a part of the Inoreader Intelligence suite of AI-powered tools. When reading an article, you’ll now see a Suggested tags button right at the top of the tag menu. It automatically analyzes the article content, recommends relevant tags based on your existing tag list. If you’re part of a Team, suggestions will include both personal and Team tags. Also the developers introduced two new preferences: Custom tag sorting (allows to choose whether your tags are displayed manually or alphabetically) and Tags button checkbox (allows to choose whether to show or hide the Tags button in article lists). Also in the search you can now select multiple tags to find articles that match all of them.
2025. Particle takes its AI-powered news reader to the web

Particle, the AI-powered newsreader, is coming to the web with new Particle.news website that connects news consumers with headlines and AI summaries from a variety of sources, plus the ability to delve into various categories. Like the existing Particle mobile app, the site provides AI tools designed to help readers better comprehend the news. Instead of just summarizing stories into key bullet points for faster reading, Particle also extracts notable quotes and allows users to pose questions about the story via an AI chatbot. These questions and responses from users are available on the new website, but the site doesn’t yet support the ability to interact with the AI directly.
2023. News app Artifact can now summarize stories using AI, including in fun styles

Artifact, the personalized news aggregator, has announced a new feature that utilizes AI to provide news article summaries at the tap of a button. This tool allows readers to quickly grasp the key points of an article before diving into the full text. In addition, users can select a preferred style for the summary, such as "explain like I'm five" or using only emojis. To access the feature, users can tap the "Aa" button above an individual news article and select the "Summarize" option. Artifact is utilizing OpenAI's API to generate the text summaries.
