2025. OpenAI launched apps inside ChatGPT
OpenAI has enabled developers to embed their apps directly into ChatGPT. Initially, ChatGPT users will be able to access interactive apps from Booking.com, Expedia, Spotify, Figma, Coursera, Zillow and Canva. By typing the names of various apps into ChatGPT, users can interact with them via a language-based interface. For example, a user could type, "Expedia, find me hotels in Chicago for under $250 a night." Apps can respond with text, trigger actions or display a fully interactive user interface in responses. If user is already subscribed to the app, they can log in directly to their account in ChatGPT to access certain features. OpenAI is also launching an Apps SDK - a developer toolkit designed to build these apps.
2025. Microsoft Adds Anthropic Models to Copilot
OpenAI recently signed a $100 billion contract with NVidia, seemingly replacing Microsoft as its preferred partner. And perhaps that's why Microsoft suddenly decided to use models from OpenAI's main competitor, Anthropic, in its AI assistant Copilot (along with ChatGPT). Microsoft signed a deal to use Anthropic's AI in Office 365 applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Thus, business users of Copilot will be able to choose between GPT and Claude for specific tasks, such as complex research, building custom AI tools and enterprise-grade agents. For example, Claude Opus 4.1 is better suited for complex reasoning, coding and deep architecture planning, while Claude Sonnet 4 is better suited for routine development tasks, processing large amounts of data and content generation.
2025. DeepL launched AI Agent for Business
German translation service DeepL has decided to enter the AI agent market and compete with giants like OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude) and Microsoft (Copilot). DeepL Agent is a general-purpose AI agent (not for translation) for autonomously performing a wide range of business tasks. From creating and researching customer lists to translating and publishing website content, it is designed to optimize the routine and time-consuming work you do every day. The developers say that it does not just understand language, but can also reason, make decisions and perform tasks on its own. In fact, DeepL Agent is a computer-assisted user agent (CUA) that uses your computer just like you do.
